This Sunday night we are playing at the Heritage Christian Concert (as part of the Gatton Heritage & Folk Festival), at the Gatton Historical Village just outside of Gatton. We are THE band for the night, thus we get to play for quite a while - an hour or more - so it should be well worth your while coming along and tapping a toe or two. (There should be at least 2 toe-tappers in that time.) We'll be playing most of our material from the last 3 years, so that includes the new songs as well as songs from 'The Sacred Hill' and more. The Gatton Heritage & Folk Festival is on all Saturday & Sunday. I'm hoping to get there early to get a hay ride if I can.
The following is written by trusty 6across bassist Daniel Saunders. Gatton is his home town and I've asked him to let you all in on a little of what you might expect...
"The concert is occurring at the conclusion of the "Heavy Horse Field Day" where you can see many Clydesdales and associated paraphernalia. There will be performances by local ensembles, including school bands and choirs and the always popular Bagpipe troop. The Historical village has a number of old buildings (churches, houses, schools), photographs and relics from the early period of colonial settlement in the Lockyer Valley. There's also lots of agricultural equipment and some motor vehicles."
My tip is to keep an eye out for Dad's Double Sars. It's quite potent and is sold in the area. I recommend a bottle or two, if you can
handle it!
