The night of 21 October 2003 will forever be etched in the minds of 6across. It was a night for celebrating, a night of joy. It was the night 6across drummer Anthony Edwards unveiled his brand new drum kit. Anthony had been borrowing a friend's kit since the beginning of 2003 so he thought it was time he invested in one of his own. Rumours that it had something to do with the friend reclaiming his kit two weeks previously are completely unfounded.
6across bass player Dan Saunders baked a packet cake (orange poppy seed with icing - difficulty rating: two spoons) in honour of the occasion. The new drum kit, christened Pearl (or possibly Kitty?) was toasted with plastic cups of Pasito. Chicken flavoured chips completed the feast. Unfortunately Anthony was unable to give the rest of the band a demo on the new kit as he had injured himself while exercising. The rest of 6across wish Anthony all the best for a fast and full recovery and remain hopeful that he will be able to play his new kit at the next rehearsal.
