This week saw Renata Curnow, 6across vocalist, recording her guest cello contribution to Memphis Joe's forthcoming CD. Renata's appearance on 'For The Underdogs', a song said to have an "organic rhythm all of its own", resulted when
MJ approached 6across cellist Weide Curnow who was unavailable to do the recording.
It is not known at this stage when the CD will be available.
(It has since been revealed that Renata's cello was not
used in the final mix. Playing cello on a concrete
floor, while sitting on a squeaky, unstable, office
chair is not the ideal time to play up a storm. It was
hard enough trying to stop the chair rolling around, let
alone keep in time with a song that didn't keep in time.
Peter Shurley is said to have recorded some cello
sounding violin for the song.)
6across have completed recording their first single 'Pieces That Didn't Fit', a song about discovering that the answers to life are found alone in Jesus. The mixing is expected to be finished this coming week and the finished product will be made available as a Promo CD Single and for download as an MP3. Keep both eyes open for it!
This weekend sees 6across heading to Hervey Bay as special guests at Gympie Community Church's family camp. Geoff Rankin, 6across guitarist, is following this by heading straight to Crow's Nest to play a solo show at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 21-23 Toowoomba Rd, Crow's Nest. It's part of St. Luke's Sunday night (Oct 19) youth service and goes from 7pm to 8pm. All are welcome and entry is free. For info contact Pastor Frank Rasenberger on 07 4698 1309.
Confirmation has been received regarding playing @ AGMF 2004. More details
soon.
