Words & music by Anthony Edwards

The sun was out to greet me when I opened up my eyes
And the birds were all in harmony with the beautiful
blue sky
I thought about my relatives who had left this world
behind
And I prayed that I could make them proud in return for
peace of mind
I thought about my friends, how they can always make me
laugh
And I felt so very fortunate to have people that I love
I thanked the Lord for playing all this music in my head
I almost threw it all away but my life began instead
I think I'll plant a seed today and see how high it
grows
I think I'll build a road today and follow where it goes
We talk about the future but no one really knows
I cannot wait until tomorrow 'cause I am grateful I
suppose
For today
On the day my life began
I think I'll plant a seed today and see how high it
grows
I think I'll build a road today and follow where it goes
We talk about the future but no one really knows
I cannot wait until tomorrow 'cause I am grateful I
suppose
For today
I cannot wait until tomorrow
I thank the Lord for playing all this music in my head
I almost threw it all away but my life began instead |
