Based
on Psalm 55 (from the Bible), 'I'm Not Flying Away' is a
song that captures the heart of the Psalm. It's about
being stuck in the situation where friends (&
possibly family) are attacking with no escape. The first
2 lines of the song really say it all - "If I had the wings of a dove,
I'd fly so far away". I think we all find
ourselves in this situation from time to time. But no
matter the circumstances, both the song & psalm
reassure us that God is in control & is looking
after us. Musically, the song has a lot going for it and
I think we will be playing it for a long, long time to
come.
